Transport companies were awarded for their expertise in safety technology

The transport companies rewarded in the Vehicle Technology and Safety seminar in Jyväskylä

The transport companies were rewarded for the expertise of the safety technology of oil transport vehicles in the Oil and Biofuel Association’s Fuel Transports – Vehicle Technology and Safety seminar in Jyväskylä at the end of April 2017. Rewards were given to Kuljetusliike Lukkarinen Oy, Rovaniemi, Välikangas Oy, Härmä and Ahon Liikenne Oy, Lentilä. A special award was given to the Aarni Isotalo transport company.

Each Finnish oil company choose from their partners the transport company, which in 2015-2016 has taken the best care of the vehicle technology and its functionality. The results were calculated by the annual approval inspection rates for 2015 and 2016 and the time taken into consideration for the inspected correction targets. The annual car inspection checks, records, measures and insures 275 items for each tanker vehicle combination. For traffic-related reasons, special control is applied to traction devices and axles as well as structures. According to the safety results the transport companies are rewarded by at the Oil and Biofuel Association’s Fuel Transports – Vehicle Technology and Safety seminar which will be held every second year.

The award-winning Transport companies are exemplary operators in their field. Teboil’s partner Lukkarinen Oy has reached the 100% approval level. Nearly the same were also Neste’s partner Välikangas Oy and NEOT’s partner Ahon Liikenne Oy. A special reward was given to a large 30-car company, Aarni Isotalo Ltd, which works with many oil companies as a partner and has reached nearly 100% approval level.

NEOT has published its Sustainability Report 2019. The new report is NEOT’s third sustainability report available for external stakeholders. In 2019 reporting, the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have been given a stronger role.

29.4.2020

NEOT’s haulier partner Helokivi Oy has strengthened its fleet with a new ED95 ethanol diesel tank truck. This is the second tank truck operating within NEOT’s logistics network. ED95 is a renewable fuel that can replace fossil-based diesel in heavy vehicles and busses.

27.8.2019

NEOT has compensated climate emissions resulting from its employees’ business flights by buying verified CO2-certificates from Puro, a Finnish carbon marketplace. The purchased certificates equal 96% of the emissions resulting from the company’s business flights during 2018.

4.7.2019

NEOT will implement Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve the safety of loading operations at the company's terminal in Oulu. During the pilot project AI will be taught to identify incorrect loading connections and act as a preventive safety tool.

NEOT has published its Sustainability Report 2018 which is the company’s second sustainability report available for external stakeholders. During the second reporting cycle we developed further its reporting principles and defined focus areas for our sustainability work.

NEOT was placed first in the list of ‘Finland’s Most Inspiring Workplaces 2018’ under the category of small organisations. Finland’s Most Inspiring Workplaces acknowledgement is granted to Finnish organisations reaching the highest results in the widely used employee satisfaction survey carried out by Corporate Spirit.

In the end of 2018, NEOT's values were revised to better reflect the company's principles and ways of working. The new value foundation is called NEOT Spirit and it´s based on four cornerstones; agility, sustainability, competitive advantage and good vibes.

The new EU Renewable Energy Directive (REDII) has been agreed by the EU institutions. The new directive increases the use of renewable energy to 32% in 2030 and the share of renewable energy used in transportation to 14% in Europe.

7.12.2018

Major steps towards more sustainable shipping were taken when NEOT’s time-chartered vessel Tern Sea bunkered LBG at the Gothenburg harbor, Sweden. NEOT became the first Finnish company that has used renewable LBG in commercial shipping operations.

Petri Appel has been appointed as the new CEO for North European Oil Trade Oy. He will start in the new position immediately after this appointment today 11.6.

11.6.2018

In April 2018, the first ED95 fuelled ethanol diesel truck started delivering fuel to petrol stations in Finland’s capital area. NEOT has an ambition to increase these trucks in its hauliers’ fleets.

Alimentation Couche-Tard has decided to sell 100% of the shares in Statoil Fuel & Retail Marine AS to St1 Norge AS. The parties signed the agreement on 27 November 2017, and the deal is now pending approval from the relevant competition authorities.

North European Bio Tech Oy (NEB), an associated company of SOK Corporation and energy company St1, was established in 2013 with the purpose of investing in biofuel production units.

5.10.2017

Energy company St1 continues its series of investments targeting to begin the production of renewable diesel in 2020 at its refinery in Gothenburg, Sweden.
