Solving global issues, such as climate change or inequality, cannot be solved by one company or one state. Due to this need for collaboration and shared vision we are thrilled about the 17 global UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) aimed at ending poverty, protecting the planet and ensuring that all people enjoy peace and prosperity.
In our sustainability work, we have decided to focus our efforts on the areas where we can make the biggest impacts. Our sustainability agenda is based on supporting achieving the four SDGs most relevant to our operations:
The topics on our sustainability agenda have been defined through materiality analysis and the SDGs were an integral part of this analysis. The process, done for the first time in 2018, was based on analysing the sustainability agendas of our owners and customers, industry data and guidelines as well as results from internal value discussions covering the entire personnel. Our first formal materiality analysis emphasised the insights of our most important stakeholders i.e. customers, owners and personnel.
193 United Nations’ member states committed to the global UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015.
