Climate

Climate change is the greatest challenge of our time, and everyone must do their part to combat it – especially in the energy sector.

NEOT's most significant carbon dioxide emissions are resulting from indirect emissions (scope 3).

NEOT’ s emission profile

NEOT’s most significant climate impact results from the use of sold products and logistics operations (scope 3). The emissions from the use of sold products account for over 99% of our annual total CO2 emissions.

Due to the trading nature of business, NEOT’s operations do not cause material direct CO2 emissions (scope 1). NEOT operates six terminals in Finland and the emissions resulting from the use of energy and heat of these facilities (scope 2) represent approx. 0.1% of NEOT’s annual emissions.

We continuously strive to develop our emission reporting so it would provide even clearer picture of the climate impact resulting from our operations.

Our role in climate change

Climate change is an integral part of our sustainability strategy.

Cooperation with logistics partners

We continuously cooperate with our partners to manage the carbon dioxide emissions resulting from our logistics operations.

Enabling energy transition

We take pride in our enabling role as a partner to our owners as they accelerate the energy transition in an industry critical to combating climate change. We are efficient in creating value that our owners can invest sustainably.

Influencing traffic legislation on emissions

We actively participate in the societal and political discussion on climate change – especially concerning traffic emissions and reducing them. We provide decision-makers with relevant and fact-based information, aiming to ensure that climate legislation is as efficient as possible for both society and the environment.
